      55th Reunion Information Webpage

Rekindle friendships and relive cherished memories at our special reunion event in Atlanta. Join us!

Wow! Can you believe it has been 55 years since we graduated from our beloved Spelman College?  We have entered the next phase of our journey from GOLDEN GIRLS to DIAMOND DAUGHTERS (Alumnae celebrating 51 or more years since attending Spelman).  It is time to celebrate!  Let us come together as a powerful group of women to celebrate our accomplishments as well as the impact we have made on the world.  For some, this may be your first time attending a reunion, but for others it may be their eleventh which means you have attended all of the reunions.  It doesn’t matter because we want all of our classmates to come to this very special reunion.

         Our Participation is Important

It’s not difficult to explain why annual fund dollars are important. They provide an important source of flexible and spendable revenue that has an impact on today’s students, faculty, and programs.
On the other hand, it may not be quite as obvious why the level of alumnae participation is so impactful. Like most educational institutions, most of Spelman’s donors are alumnae—although there are other key donor groups such as parents, students, faculty, staff, and friends.

                Reasons to Participate

Here are 5 key reasons why alumnae participation is important:

1.It adds up – Annual gifts (even at very modest levels) can have just as much impact as major gifts when they are pooled together.

2.It provides feedback – Alumnae participation rates give educational institutions a metric to help indicate how students and alumnae feel about their experience.

3.It hedges risk – Alumnae giving creates a broad and diverse base of support which helps ensure that institutions don’t have to rely on the same donors year after year.

4.It builds a pipeline – Consistent giving by alumnae in the years immediately following their graduation increases the likelihood that they will become major donors later in life, make planned gifts, and/or include their alma mater in their estate plans.

5.It inspires others – People want to give to a winning cause. High levels of alumnae participation can influence major donors, corporations, and foundations when they’re considering their own investments.
Strong Spelman alumnae participation is essential for preserving the College’s rich history and traditions. Engaging activities to foster connections among classmates.
